NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker player on the planet by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn every little thing he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the negative feedback from others destroy his ambition of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.
He began competing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a normal thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed many of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an eternal love for the game of poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. He admits to making blunders in each game of poker and constantly strives to improve.
Although Ivey has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
