Net High Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?
Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only player to achieve final poker table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a big pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best gamblers around the world. While wagering on net poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus regularly competes in the 200/400 NL max buy in of $40, 000. Hansen more often than not buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I know Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless he is broke, he has little or no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy-in.
Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is accepted to be one of the best players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total dollar value. I believe television can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best players anywhere in the world could be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found wagering on net poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in big stakes omaha hi-low and Holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?
